Funny How To’s and Things You Should Know

If Obama’s Name Bothers You, Please Do Not Vote

July 25th, 2008 Posted in Fridays with Falls

The Daily Idea’s senior apolitical correspondent, Jason Falls, finds fault with conservative pundits and their ignorant followers who think Barack Obama isn’t fit to be president because his middle name is Hussein. Republicans have permission to spew their narrow-minded hate for fat people in the comments.

Great stance. I have argued basically the same thing, but you put it much more eloquently. Sadly, the name thing falls under this category as well:

I personally refuse to vote for any man whose middle name is ‘Sidney’. It’s so g–. :)

    ‘Hussein’, now, *that’s* manly!

Bill Cunningham is a bully and an asshole (I grew up in Cincinnati, where he GMs 700WLW, and listened to his show my whole childhood). Total jerk.

Troy - Funny stuff. Thanks for the link.

I do believe Steve Magruder almost made me piss myself.

And the fact that Nate Westheimer watches Fridays with Falls kicks ass. I feel sorta kinda important now. Thanks!

Amen. And not only should they not come out to vote, they should not come out. Anywhere. Although they did, sadly building a paper mache statue of Obama and then pulling it down and cheering “Mission Accomplice!” Thank you for your post.

His name is fine. It’s his socialist tendencies I hate. Yes, hate.

Of course, McCain is only marginally better (in principle) than Obama in that regard. And even though in practice his socialist policies would be somewhat less oppressive than Obama’s, I hate those, too.

Not that I’m voting for either of them.

The reason we and the fact that we vote or do not vote has no bearing on who becomes president,,,correct me if I am wrong, but is it not the electorial vote that counts and not the popular vote?
