Hi, I’m Joe Bennett and you’re watching The Daily Idea.

On November 4, 2008, millions of Americans will head to the polls to vote for their favorite candidate for President of the United States. And hopefully you will be one of those people casting their ballots.

And we at the Daily Idea want you to be informed about the candidates. But who has time to do the research? You’ve got your job, your family, you’ve got to watch your TIVO’d shows, and watch the Daily Idea. You are too busy to research. Well, let’s knock out two birds with one stone. The Daily Idea proudly brings to you the uninformed voter’s political links that will help you figure out who to vote for. We’re working on that title.

There are lots of candidate selectors on the internet that are designed to help you select one of the nominees based on your answers to certain questions. I’ve taken a few and gotten different results each time. The best one I’ve found is Select 2008 dot com. This site allows you to have head-to-head match-ups: Obama vs. Clinton, Clinton vs. McCain, or Obama vs. McCain. On top of that, there’s a great blog and newsfeed. Definitely worth your time.

All the news stations like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC have election websites. I prefer Presidential Election dot com. This non-partisan site provides you with the latest news, information about the candidates and issues, and so much more. And if you registered to vote yet, what are you waiting for?

Oh…you need information about that? Well, this site has that to for each state.

And what would a presidential race in 2008 be without You Tube videos from the candidates. Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain all have their own You Tube pages with videos of their campaigns, TV ads, and each candidate getting in front of their webcams and attempting to sing cover songs. Just kidding about the last part.

Once you’ve made your decision, you can check out each candidate’s personal website. Find out information about donating to the campaigns, their travel schedule, and find out more details about their stances on the issues you care about.

We’ve done the work of finding the links. The rest is up to you.

And that’s another Daily Idea.
