FULL TRANSCRIPT

Hi, I’m Nikki Key and you’re watching the Daily Idea.

Today is a very exciting episode for me. I consider myself quite the fashionista. I try to keep up with all the latest trends and designs out there. And I am always looking for tips on staying chic.

So, I’ve been trying to convince the producers to let me devote a whole episode to fashion and…here it is! Our first Daily Idea about Fashion!
And in another first for the Daily Idea, I will have my first sit down interview. And let me tell you, this is one you won’t want to miss. I have arranged to sit down with underground fashion designer…Rye-Rye. Yes, you heard correctly. Rye-Rye, the reclusive designer has agreed for his first on-screen interview and the Daily Idea has the exclusive.

So without further adieu, I present Nikki Key’s Exclusive Interview with Rye-Rye.

(Nikki and Rye-Rye sitting across from one another)

NIKKI: First off, let me say how what an honor it is to sit down and talk with you.

RYE-RYE: Oh please, girl…it is my pleasure. I think you are so fierce. Come on, first question. Bring it on.

NIKKI: You are too sweet. Tell us, who inspires you fashion wise?

RYE-RYE: Umm…honestly…I would have to say my father because he was an immaculate dresser. The man could wear an ascot like no one’s business. I would also mention Ted Knight who played Ted Baxter on the Mary Tyler Moore show. And of course, my life partner, my lover, my wife, Yolanda…she is an inspiration beyond words…which is why create…designs and ensembles. (look at camera) Yolanda, I love you.

NIKKI: Wow, if only we all could experience that kind of love and expression. I think our audience would want to know a little more about where Rye-Rye came from. Tell us about your childhood.

RYE-RYE: I grew up in a loving family environment. I was always nurtured and cared. My father encouraged me to chase my dreams…and that’s what I did. I was always a rough and tumble kid so I played lots of sports…was the quarterback of the Coffey High School football team. Go Hornets! We almost won a state title, but alas, it was not meant to be. On top of being quarterback, I also designed our football uniforms. And that’s where I found my calling. I knew, that even though I was offered all these D-1 scholarships to play football, that my calling wasn’t on the football field. My calling was in the fashion field.

NIKKI: Let’s get to the practical side of things. What fashion tips do you have for this coming spring?

RYE-RYE: Well, it’s about time, you PYT. Look, I’ve got one word for you. Capes.

NIKKI: Capes?

RYE-RYE: That’s right, Nikki. Capes. I asked my wife what we should do for our new line this spring and she looked me right in the windows of my soul and said…capes. And I knew. I knew.

NIKKI: Are we talking like Dracula capes?

RYE-RYE: Nikki, if you want to be ahead of the fashion game this season, you better be wearing a cape, girl. Capes can be used for formal events like prom or weddings, for Sunday morning church, for casual Fridays at work, or for lounging around the house. Men, women, children…we even have a line for dogs coming out. Capes are the new pants.

NIKKI: Well, I will be sure to go out and get a cape tonight. Rye-Rye, I want to thank you again for sitting down for this interview. I know you are a busy man and a loving husband to Yolanda, and this has just been a pleasure.

RYE-RYE: Nikki (holds out index finger)…it has been a joy to do this. I love you what you are doing at the Daily Idea and anytime you need me for more fashion tips I will be happy to help. You are a doll. I love you, stay the same, believe in yourself, dream big, wear a cape, and kisses. I’m out. (Rye-Rye gets up and leaves)

(back to Nikki in front of bluescreen)

NIKKI: There you have it folks. You’re fashion tip for the season – capes. I would again like to thank underground fashion designer Rye-Rye for sitting down with me. If you have any fashion tips for this spring, let us know in the comment section at dailyidea dot tv.

And that’s another Daily Idea.
