Hi I’m Nikki Key and you’re watching the Daily Idea.
Usually around March I start thinking about where I want to travel this year. Last year, I had the beach in mind and took vacations to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The year before landed me in England and Malta. And as I think back on some interesting travel spots, I also remember – sometimes fondly and others time not – the food I’ve experienced in all those places.
The most disgusting food I’ve ever tried traveling – horse’s milk. Yes, I was visiting a horse farm in Austria and we all had a shot of horse’s milk. We had to take it in shot glasses because it tasted so disgusting you would NEVER drink it in a big glass.
There was a segment on the Today Show with Andrew Zimmern, the host of “Bizarre Foods” on the Travel Channel where he trots the globe tasting odd food. To see the full segment, click the tab below.
Now, I’m never been a fan of those reality shows like Fear Factor that get fame-hungry folks to eat insects, drink cow’s blood and other disgusting eats. But, people love to see a train wreck, I mean MTV’s real world has been aired for almost 20 years just to see people fight and now we have 5 modeling “reality shows”, but they don’t like to eat.
Anyway… what I’d like to know from you is what is the most disgusting food you’ve ever tried on vacation? Leave us a comment and that’s another Daily Idea!

horse’s milk? i actually ate horse meat in switzerland. they didn’t tell me until afterward.
livercheese in germany was probably the worst tasting meal, but the delectable home brew that washed it down made it all better.
most foul meal was “el spaghetto” (not making that name up!) while in central mexico. imagine CDC quarantined cat food + ketchup. mmmm, spaghetto. they even market a tomato sauce by that name in grocery stores down there, no joke.

Ohh thats so wrong. The whole flavor of traveling is to experience what locals experience… also a good way to build up your immune system
