How to Properly Break Up With Someone

We’ve all been through it….the dreaded break-up. However, watching this season’s ending of the “reality” show “The Bachelor” reminded me many people could use a lesson in how to properly end a relationship. The person breaking up with you should give you a reason - any reason!!!

Just remember what Justin Timberlake sings - what goes around, comes around, so always be careful when dealing with matters of the heart. Post the worst break-up line you’ve used or been given in the comments below. We’ll choose a winner and post it here on our site.

Each week I’ll be coming to you in a different format to get your input or talk about a specific topic. Sooo, today, I want to talk about proper breakups.

Watching this season’s ending of the “reality” show “The Bachelor” reminded me many people could use a lesson in how to properly end a relationship.

We’ve all had our heart broken. But it really sucks when there’s no explanation given, nothing. The person breaking up with you should give you a reason - any reason!

A few common but pitiful responses are…

- I feel suffocated
- I need a break
- I think you should date other people
- I just can’t give you what you need right now.
- or my all time favorite, it’s not you, it’s me.

So what I want to know from you is what is THE WORST break-up line someone has given you? Write in a comment and we’ll choose a winner.

In the meantime, if you’re about to end a relationship, please have the decency to give the person a plausible reason as to why you’re breaking their heart. It will help them heal faster and move on in a non-stalker way.

Also, one day when the shoes are switched and someone you care about is breaking your heart, you will want a reason too.

    what about posting a bulletin on myspace one of my friends boyfriend broke up with her and posted a bulletin that said if any one reads this and is friends with ashley tell he im dating emily now and tell her im sry but its over that was so sad

    And just today my boyfriend broke up with me trough a text after only a few days he said he didnt feel the connection and the worse part is he was one of my best freinds and he is the one that asked me out how messed up i am so madd

    what about this one time i left a message on his home voice mail box i was just like sory zach but i dont want to date you anymore and hung up. The funniest part is he livies with his family like his dad, brothers,and sisters i felt really bad but i liked someone eles

    when I was 17 my girlfriend was on my bed with another boy.I was so pissed but then she left and the boy was still on my bed!And I was in the room talking to him telling him that lacy ( girlfriend ) was still going out with me and my dad walked in and was asking me questions why a boy was in my bed and then my dad thought I was gay but then I told him the old story and he understood. As the boy was leaving my dad picked up a bat and chased him to the boys car . That night I went to her house toliet papered her house and I put shaving cream and a razor by her front door and a note saying ( exact words ) we are breaking up you dirty cheater and by the way you need to shave your facial hair.

    Try This one. I had a woman that I was engaged to, come home one night and tell me (exact words) I dont think your happy with yourself and untill you can be happy with yourself you cant be happy with anyone and I think you should move out for a while.
    Funny aint it? A week later she had another man moved in with her and her kids.>

    the worst break up ever is when i asked my boyfriend if we could take some time off and he started yelling at me and said oh well i was already dating someone and get this it was in the mddle of class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
